STUDENT PROGRAM The program features three events for students.
1) Evening of June 27: A Careers Workshop. This event will feature speakers from Industry, Zoos, Pharmaceutical Companies, small teaching colleges, NIH and NSF to talk about career alternatives to academic research. Pizza and beer will be provided and attendance limited to students and post-docs to allow for open discussions.

2) Topics table lunches with 8 students and 2 faculty members per table will be set up. Students will be able to have lunch in small groups with individual senior SBN members to facilitate the formation of mentorships. Please send suggestions of topics you would like to discuss, and/or people you'd like to lunch with to Chuck Snowdon (Snowdon@facstaff.wisc.edu).

3) We will have a Student Award Competition. Entry is optional. Students will be judged on the basis of their abstracts, poster quality and their ability to present the science to judges. Prizes include a number of Book Awards provided courtesy of Academic Press. To be considered in the student award competition, you must be first or sole author and you must indicate on the abstract submittal form that you wish to compete.

POSTER BOARDS The boards have a gray carpet surface and an aluminum frame. The dimensions of the boards are four (4) feet wide by seven (7) feet high. The boards are provided as a self-supporting pair, hinged at the top to yield an A-frame. This configuration provides a display surface on both sides. Posters may be mounted using either T-pins or Velcro. Push-pins and thumbtacks are not effective due to the short length of the shaft. Poster session presenters may begin putting up their posters at 8:30 a.m. on the day of their presentation. Posters from the first session must be taken down by 8:30 a.m. the following day.

MEALS Morning and afternoon coffee breaks will be provided during the meeting. Daily breakfast and lunch will be available through the meal plan (see housing form) available from Conference Services. In addition, there are many restaurants within easy walking distance.
